    Located strategically in Benton Heights, the Laundry Hub goes beyond basic laundry care. It serves as a hub for community resources. Patrons can utilize laundry facilities and/or connect with various human services such as financial education, job coaching, health, and nutrition services provided by partner agencies. The Laundry Hub is a place for building relationships and connections within the community.

    The Manager of the Laundry Hub will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of this essential community resource. The role will involve coordinating services with social and human service partners, and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laundromat to ensure that guests feel welcomed and cared for.

    While the Laundry Hub Manager position involves strong administrative responsibilities, it is also requires care for the community members, volunteers and staff. The position requires a compassionate approach, providing care, support, and a sense of belonging to all individuals who utilize the Laundry Hub. Ultimately, the goal of New Heights is to facilitate meaningful encounters with the love of God in tangible ways.

    Duties:

    • Welcome any and all individuals entering the Laundry Hub and offer friendly assistance, ensuring that each visitor feels valued and supported in accessing the services provided.

    • Conduct a thorough daily assessment of the facility, including all equipment and amenities, to ensure proper functionality and cleanliness. Address any maintenance or cleanliness issues promptly and effectively to uphold high standards of service.

    • Coordinate closely with agency partners to facilitate collaborative efforts and ensure the seamless integration of their programs within the Laundry Hub. Maintain a comprehensive schedule of partner activities and allocate resources as needed to support their initiatives.

    • Maintain open communication channels with the Operations Director, providing regular updates on the status of the Laundry Hub operations and promptly addressing any emerging needs or issues that may arise.

    • Manage the scheduling of Laundry Hub attendants, ensuring adequate coverage during operating hours and optimizing staffing levels to meet the needs of patrons effectively.

    • Provide comprehensive training and ongoing supervision to volunteers involved in Laundry Hub operations, empowering them to fulfill their roles effectively and contribute to the overall success of the facility.

    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and enhance efficiency within the Laundry Hub, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services to patrons.

    • Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of Laundry Hub operations, soliciting feedback from patrons, volunteers, and partners to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

    • Effectively manage the laundromat so that over $77,000 in revenue is generated annually from the laundromat.

    • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals utilizing the Laundry Hub.

    Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

    • Proficient in basic computer skills, including familiarity with Google Docs and Google Sheets. Ability to navigate digital platforms for scheduling, communication, and data management is essential.

    • Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, schedules, and resources within a dynamic environment.

    • Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation, capable of taking proactive steps to address challenges and achieve organizational objectives.

    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact courteously and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    • Strong Christian faith and alignment with the mission, values, and principles of New Heights Christian Community Development Association. Demonstrated commitment to embodying Christian values in professional conduct and interactions with others.

    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, fostering a spirit of cooperation, respect, and mutual support among staff, volunteers, and community members.

    Schedule:

    Mon - Fri, 11 AM - 4:30 PM (On rare occasions evenings or Saturdays will be required)

    Status:

    Part-time Hourly, 29 hours per week

    Compensation & Benefits: 

    • $18 - $20 / hr

    The New Heights Laundry Hub is a vital community resource in Benton Heights which provides laundry facilities and serves as a platform for connecting patrons with various human services offered by partner agencies. As a Laundry Hub Attendant, your job is to keep the place clean, welcome people, and assist with services.

    Duties:

    • Welcome and help people using the Laundry Hub, making sure everyone feels welcome.

    • Keep the facility clean by sweeping, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms.

    • Perform cleaning duties as assigned (sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces, cleaning the bathroom, etc.).

    • Help partner agencies who use the Laundry Hub.

    • Work with the Laundry Hub Manager to keep things running smoothly.

    • Work with volunteers assisting them in their tasks.

    • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of Laundry Hub operations, gathering feedback from patrons, volunteers, and partners to identify areas for improvement.

    • Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for everyone by following policies, procedures, and guidelines.

    • Ensure that laundry equipment is clean and in working order; communicating any issues with the Laundry Hub Manager.

    Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.

    • Must be proactive and organized.

    • Good with people from different backgrounds.

    Available Shifts

    • Tuesday: 5 pm - 9 pm

    • Thursday: 5 pm - 9 pm

    • Saturday: 11 am - 5 pm

    Status:

    Part-time Hourly, 6 - 14 hours per week

    Compensation & Benefits:

    $17 / hr
